A challenge to design, build and share The Game-a-thon has just begun…*  JiJi, the beloved penguin in our ST Math games, is celebrating [Math Awareness Month](http://www.mathaware.org/mam/2014/) by challenging kids and grownups alike to invent their own math puzzles. (If you haven’t already tried creating a Magic JiJi Square, be sure to check out our [#MathAware Challenge 1 blog post](https://blog.mindresearch.net/blog/bid/381575/MathAware-Challenge-1-Magic-JiJi-Squares).) This week, we present a more advanced challenge for *student teams*. The 2014 Game-a-thon rules are simple: 1. **DESIGN** a game with friends/classmates 2. **BUILD** a working model in real or virtual space 3. **SHARE** the game on YouTube As a parent or teacher, you’ll coach their efforts, foster independent thinking, and in a short time hear them say: [![Logo Game a thon resized 600](https://2024.mindresearch.org/hs-fs/file-690694111-png/images/logo_game-a-thon-resized-600.png?width=254&height=281&name=logo_game-a-thon-resized-600.png)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f_jWRNsder0) We wager you’ll be amazed! And there’s more… Before July 6, help your student team film the game as it is played and upload the video to YouTube. There are JiJi recognition prizes for all participants, as well as added perks if your students’ game impresses their peers. Select games will be featured at the MIND Research Institute [2014 Math Fair](http://mindresearch.net/mathfair/home/), and the Top 5 entries will be inducted into the Game-a-thon Hall of Fame. Need ideas to get your students started?
