Learning & The Brain brings educators and neuroscientists together to explore new brain research and implications it has on learning and education. This event brings together cutting-edge educational research and neuroscience directly from the researchers. Their conferences and summer institutes assist clinicians, educators, counselors, speech-language and special education professionals improve their practice.

At the[two-day conference](http://www.learningandthebrain.com/Event-240/Teaching-Self-Aware-Minds/Program) this week, attendees will uncover best practices and strategies for boosting self-awareness, self-control, resilience, and relationships so students can succeed in this fast paced digital age. Experts will share knowledge on combining Common Core State Standards, Language Arts and emotions, using games and tech to improve math skills, applying social and brain science to improve student learning, and much more.

During the conference, our own Matthew Peterson will be hosting a workshop on “The Neural Foundation for Mathematics: Using Teaching and Technology to Improve Learning.” Today’s students are bombarded with more information than any other generation in the past. Throughout the workshop, Matthew will share insights on how the brain processes information and how neuroscience, motivational research and innovative technology can improve math education. The insights he will provide can help create an effective and engaging method to teach today’s learners and ensure they’re prepared for success in school and a knowledge-based economy.
